The Fashion Industry and four reasons why one should partake in it

I’ve been contemplating on whether or not I should buy a sewing machine. And some fabric to run through it. You might ask why that is. Or you might not. But still, here’s my explanation as to why it might be a good investment;

1. Freedom to Spice it Up and therefore Charge Extra
One could slap on some diamonds on a simple design and sell it as “The Most Expensive Garment Ever Because There Is Diamonds Attached” – get a couple of million for it (depending on the value of the diamonds and how elaborate the design is, of course) and call it a day. The bonus is of course that you could slap diamonds on everything that is something. Not just fancy things. I’m sure there is a market for my “Diamond Extravaganza Coffee Mug” out there to. I shall call the kitchen line “Xtrvgnz”.

2. Freedom to be Selective
Only sell size 0 clothes = less fabric = less costs = same retail price as a size 16 (hypothetically)

3. Freedom to Create and Lead by Example
You make the rules, and therefore dress accordingly. No need to study Vogue if you are Vogue!

4. Freedom to Call your Pieces Art if they’re Shit.

So now we wait for the recession to end.

  1. I'll take a piece of shit diamond art coffee mug please. You can never have enough coffee mugs as long as there is coffee to fill 'em.

    Mmmmm, caffiene, the drug of genius. Obviously, you drink a lot of coffee.

  2. Sooo basically you're saying you have some diamonds in your possession?
    I will have to ask for your full address if you don't mind?! :)

  3. The drug of genius? I thought that was opium. Don't know why I think that. Oh well - whatever keeps us smart! ;D

    Alpha B - I was thinking more of buying them really cheap and selling them for a whole lot more. Option number two is to get a diamondperson to invest in the business idea.

    Ah, diamonds. Wish I did have some for you to steal actually! At least then I had some. Before you took them.

  4. Oh this is another brilliant, hilarious post. For that I've given you an award, but you'll have to come over to my blog to see it: http://creditcrunchcareerchange.blogspot.com

    ...and also some commentary on why your blog is one of the ones I've awarded it to, of course :-)
