Photography - the Art of being a Clicker

I mentioned in a previous post that I had started on a new project within the Project; photography. I also promised to show you the fruits of my very extensive labor when I had befriended Photshop.

Safe to say - that has not happened yet. However, I have taken pictures, and I did buy a new camera for the project. In order to feel like a professional one must have OK equipment to start with - official theory.

The sad part is I stumbled upon a beautiful sunrise one morning on my way to work, and I only had my compact camera with me. It’s sad because the quality could’ve been seven times better with my new and super cool Nikon;

And this is my attempt at being slightly more artistic;

Trying to find beauty in every day things:

Just missing the cat:

“Big Car and Little Car” - could’ve been quite delightful with the right angle. And focus. And not-so-much-disturbing-blurriness:

Missing the cat. Again.:

Went for a walk. Found something growing out of this plastic thing. Thought it was cute. It wasn’t.:

As long as there are two P's in Photography
I am not giving up!

  1. I'm a clicker too, but I find that my spur of the moment pictures come out way better than if I really work at the angle, lighting, etc.

    I visualize things a lot of times as though I'm looking through a camera lens. Sad, but true.

    Keep practicing. I actually like the "missed the cat" pictures. Just the wiskers is really cool - could become a series or signature.

  2. I forgot. Sometimes it's not the quality of the picture, but the story that goes with it that makes it something special.

    I've got a story for everything, most of which ends up on my blog these days - much to the chagrin of my friends & family.

  3. Nice pics! Love the header. Err...shameless self promoter, can I download the pic with the wood planks? I would like to use it as a research reference for a pic of deck flooring for my novel...Maybe place it on my writer blog...with a link to your site, of course.
